Israel, “Rising lion” came out shorn, after 12 days, by the “True Promise III”

The ‘ceasefire’ arranged by Trump between, on the one hand, the US and its most efficient external base in the world, Israel, and on the other hand, Iran, is evidence, to date, of a historic defeat of Israel by Iran and, of course, by those who conceived and formulated it, the US. It is important to note that the genocide of Palestine by the defeated powers continues, as does the concrete solidarity and struggle of the Yemenis for Palestine.

The US maintains its propaganda and intention to continue expanding the acceptance (imposition) of the Abraham Accords, based on the recognition of the murderous state of Israel, between imperialism and the opulent governments of the Arab countries, all undeclared accomplices in the genocide of Palestine.

Israel's aggression did not achieve its goal of crushing Iran, for Iran did not collapse and responded by attacking Israel. The Israelis panicked and the US had to come to their rescue, proving that a regular army could defeat the much-vaunted and superior lethal army, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) and their impregnable fortress, the Zionist state of Israel.

It fell upon the US to intervene directly in the conflict to prevent the Zionist regime from devastation and a continuing deterioration of the situation. Iran responded with complex precision missiles and drones that struck important centres in Israel, damaging the headquarters of the intelligence services, the country's largest oil refinery near the port city of Haifa, and the Weizmann Institute of Science, one of the country's leading research centres, as well as Microsoft's facilities in Beer Sheva, in Cyberspark, Israel's cybersecurity technology complex, among other targets.

This is indirectly a victory against Trump's plans, demonstrating the scope of Iran's response and its ability to strike back again and with greater magnitude. However, it is clear that this tacit ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran allows for the resumption of the killing of the starving population of Gaza and the attacks and assassinations in the West Bank and Lebanon.

With regard to the ceasefire with Iran in particular, this is due, first, to the growing impact of missiles and drones destroying Israel, and second, to Iran's demonstration of its capability by attacking the Al Udeid military base in Qatar, the most important US air base in the Middle East, which also houses aircraft belonging to the British Royal Air Force, Qatar itself and other countries. It houses more than 8,000 soldiers and has capacity for more than 100 aircraft, as well as a powerful defence infrastructure. Strangely or rather cowardly, at the time, the aircraft had been withdrawn and the missile defence was carried out by Qatar. Thirdly, the icing on the cake was going to be the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, along with the Yemeni declaration to impose a blockade on US ships passing through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. And if that weren't enough, there were global protests, particularly in the US, against the war.

It is absurd to believe that two days after the US bombing (21 June), in which more than 150,000 kilograms of explosives were detonated in less than an hour on Iranian soil, Trump (23 June) called for a ceasefire... because they achieved what objective? Apart from the nuclear threat from Iran, which does not exist in the immediate term. In the end (24 June), after 12 days, Israel's missile defence system – the Iron Dome – had been seriously weakened, while Hamas' resistance in Gaza continued. Netanyahu's Israel was hit hard by the Iranians. They did not expect it; they thought their system was impregnable, but it has been proved that it could be penetrated. Iran's missile power is very high, some even hypersonic and with explosive payloads of up to 2,500 kilograms, as demonstrated until the last minutes of the ceasefire, in the so-called truce imposed by Trump.

The ceasefire was actually between three parties, including the US, which does not recognise itself as a participant in the war and was the main instigator and promoter of the war, which began on 13 June, 61 days after the US had given Iran one more day to comply with its demands following talks in April 2025.

The Israelis themselves have estimated that the cost of the damage caused by Iranian missile and drone attacks is greater than that caused since 7 October and the more than 600 days that have passed since the start of the genocide in Gaza and the attacks on the West Bank, up to that 12-day war. Finally, one day after ordering bombings against Iranian nuclear facilities, the US president took to social media to announce a surprise armistice.

As a result of this, among other things, Iran’s withdrawal from the supervision of the (imperialist agency) known as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has come on the agenda.

Imperialism flaunted its verbosity and media brazenness, using, on the one hand, denunciations of despotism and human rights attacks by the theocratic regime, and on the other hand, the display of its seemingly invincible military and technological power. But the worst thing is that many on the left who follow these narratives are useful to it, taking an equidistant position in this struggle.

Revolutionaries are anti-imperialist, but the resistance and the entire axis of the resistance are under non-revolutionary leadership. However, those who do not understand this difference and, in turn, their common ground, which is that they are not with imperialism and must fight for their existence, are taking sides with all the corresponding anti-colonialist and internationalist distinctions, not giving sectarian speeches from the pulpit or inflammatory statements of integrity.

Even worse, some sectors label the motives of both sides as engaging in imperialist war, which is not the case, but it is war and you have to decide whether you are for the weapons that fire on imperialism, or neutral, which is the same as siding with the imperialist enemy.

For the total defeat of the Zionist state of Israel

Long live the struggles of all the peoples of the Middle East

Out with all imperialist bases, equipment and soldiers from the Middle East
